Revised plan for building at Flatbush and Dean opposite arena, with far more parking than required

From the Real Deal
The Real Deal yesterday had some news regarding 215 Flatbush, the old Bergen Tile building: Developer to refile mixed-use rental plan near Barclays Center.

The original plan aimed to waive required parking, about 25 spaces, for a 53-unit, six-story rental building.

But the community board resisted, concerned that residents would compete for the already limited amount of parking.

(There's an argument for residential permit parking, since arena-goers try to get the free parking.)

Now a new plan is in place, PRD Realty President Martin Domansky told the Real Deal, and the building could break ground by the end of the year.

Now the building would have 58 units and more than 100 parking spaces below ground, which is clearly a play for arena patrons.

As I wrote last October, a real estate agent's ad then touted 9875 square feet of retail and 60 residential units.
